Here Comes The Watcher Skull

Not long ago we shared that I got the email stating I was in Libs Elliott’s Watcher Skull class for the 2018 Quilt Con show in Pasadena. It was an incredible moment to hear that I was going to have the chance to work with Libs and create this amazing (yet intimidating) quilt.

Yeah, it’s pretty amazing, right?

Sadly, at the time, space on the waitlist hadn’t freed up enough room to also allow my mom to join. Wamp, wamp. We really wanted to go together just to have that support of someone we know in the class with us.

But we have good news, quilters!!! A space opened up and she’s in! Our schedules have been adjusted for the added class and now we wait, rather impatiently, for February 2018 to roll around. Can you believe our good fortune!?

Because February is so far away, it does get shuffled to the back of my mind and I’ll randomly remember that we are going to be participating in this class. And when that happens, I have a mixture of tummy butterflies of excitement and “OH MY GOSH, WHAT HAVE I SIGNED UP FOR?!?!” concerns. But I know, with my mom there and the idea that I’m going to learn A LOT, the fears will subside and it’ll be an awesome experience!

  1. Looks like a paper piecing class, take it slow, relax and enjoy. Glad you are taking it together, that way you can help each other out as you continue the work after the class.
